Armchair Cynics cover Billie Jean on the FOX in Vancouver PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 30 March 2010 10:27

Todd and Danger had us in studio as guests for the Rock report on Thursday evening.   One of their latest endeavours is to have guests play one acoustic original song and one cover.  We don't have any covers in our set so over the course of our five hour drive in to Vancouver we came up the idea to perform Billie Jean by Michael Jackson.

A few modifications were required to make it work acoustically but it's still undoubtedly Billie Jean; performed Armchair Cynics style.   We also played Kelly live on air.

Press + 1 added a show review to their site folloing our gig in Vancouver for Samapalooza 2010 at the Venue nightclub.  It's always good to get some feedback from the press.  The show was a blast and a great way to end our tour.  Here's the article.

While we were in Toronto for CMW 2010 we managed to find our way into a few radio stations and interview rooms including a visit to Scarborough where we met up with Wenke,  a student at UTSC who writes for the Underground.   The Underground is the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus' official student publication. Check out the article here.

Globe and Mail and CMW Toronto PDF Print E-mail

For the first time in the history of Armchair Cynics,  we made the big trip across the Country to be a part of Canadian Music Week in Toronto.  This is of course the center of the Canadian Universe so it was kind of flattering to see our band written up in the Globe and Mail.  It's maybe not the most positive article ever but like Mars Bonfire reminded everyone during his talk at CMW,  "any press is good press as long as they spell the name right".  You will certainly see the irony in this catch phrase as it applies to our very name when you read the article.  Thanks Globe and Mail.  I think.

Big 105 in Red Deer PDF Print E-mail

We had an appointment to meet Jodi at Red Deers Big 105 by no later than 3:30pm.  Nothing out of the ornidary about that unless you consider we had to start in Moose Jaw and make at least one stop at another radio station in Medicine Hat.  The Golden Sparrow flew down the highway with the big black box of music gear in tow and we made it with a few minutes to spare.  Believe is believed to be added to the rotation really soon.  Once we made that awesome pit stop inlcuding  a tour of the entire station,  we hopped back in the van for another 8 hours of driving en route to Vancouver.  Lucky us.
